Something you should all know ahead of time. When I refer to "the weekend", I am talking about my days off work, which are Tuesday-Thursday. The real weekend means nothing to me, being that I am always working during it.
So, I spent the weekend with my family at my parents' place. I ate a lot of food, too much at times. She asked for a dinner suggestion. I suggested tacos. Oops. So delicious. Another night was tri-tip. Way too good. So, I ate a lot of both. Very oddly, I do not remember what the other night's dinner was, though I am sure it was quite good.
Now, my friend is here, visiting. Right now, he is tearing it up on GTA IV. I love this game. It is even fun to watch.
Anyhow, I am trashed (tired, not drunk), so I think I'll head to bed. I actually have to get up tomorrow morning, as we are attending the college graduation of a few of our friends.
Oh, I nearly forgot. We spent some good quality time today at a minor league baseball game. There may not be anything better in the world. We had a marvelous time. It lead to a headache, which is now gone. I wish we could do this kind of stuff all the time.

Moving slowly
Things are coming together a bit slower than I thought they might. I have been tired. So tired. I slept for 9 hours two nights ago, and I was still tired. I followed that up with 4 hours of sleep. Tonight, I'll get 6 or 7 hours. Then, 5 wonderful days off. Oh man. I am so excited for this. I will be seeing family and friends. Nothing could be better for me right now.
The only problem is that my new plan has foiled my workout plan. My plan had been to start hitting the treadmill and stationary bike a minimum of 5 days a week, being my 5 days off, plus two more. I was to start on Tuesday, my first day off. I will be out of town. So, it is being bumped back. The good news is that I eat well when I visit my mom. I tend to shrink a little bit every time I visit.
Today for lunch, I had Burger King. The original intent was to get free food. I have a coupon for a free whopper with the purchase of fries and a drink. Unfortunately, the Steakhouse burger just looked too good, so not only did I eat unhealthy, but I still have the damn coupon.
I think my next post will likely be about food at work, and why I find it so difficult to eat healthy. I am not sure when that post will be, as I am going to my parents' place tomorrow after work, and will have a house guest all weekend. The best to all of you.

A few quick notes...
I am tired of being tired. I have so much less energy than I used to, and I can hardly stand it. I know that it is directly related to my health, as well as being sedentary. I guess I have spent a lot more time than I realize in a sedentary lifestyle. The time passes so fast.
I am tired of needing new clothes. I have held around the same size for a while now, but it was sure annoying when I finally came to the realization that the XL size I have been wearing since high school would not cut it anymore. 2XL and 3XL have been added to my vocabulary, as well as my wardrobe. I really look forward to wearing my old clothes again.
Dinner tonight was two Lean Pockets. I'm tired, my wife is tired, and we are both on the verge of sleep. At 7:40 PM, this is pretty amazing for me. Even so, if I fall asleep by 8 it will only be 9 hours of sleep before I am up and around again.
Work is where I have the most trouble with food. I think that deserves its own blog post. Perhaps tomorrow.
Anyhow, this blog should start looking a whole lot prettier fairly soon. This is not my first (or only) blog, and I love to tinker around with web design, though I am not an expert by any means. Also, I figure I will be adding a few little gadgets, such as the weight tracker like FLG has.
I am actually getting excited for this. Kind of. I need sleep.
By the way, Grand Theft Auto IV is pretty much the best game ever made.

Overweight and in America. Makes sense.
Welcome to my first post. This is my new blog, which will hopefully chronicle my weight loss, but will certainly chronicle my weight. It is in bare bones format right now, but I will improve it over time.
To start things off, my good buddy, the FLG did a survey that I thought would make a nice start for me.
1. What types of food were you most likely to overeat? Really anything, but I suppose the biggest offenders are fast foods. I am always likely to order more food than I need, sometimes way too much.
2. What times of day did you overeat most often? Dinner probably worst, because I know it is the last meal of the day.
3. What feelings were you having most often when you overate? It has never had much to do with feelings. Any feeling, any time.
4. Do you think you have a binge eating disorder? Yes, I do. I abuse my body with it completely.
5. What circumstances in your life do you believe contributed to your weight gain? I was always a very skinny kid, and I was always teased and made fun of for it. My personal theory is that I had a really good metabolism, which required a lot of food to burn. I had a bad bicycle accident in my youth, and I believe that it affected my metabolism. I ate as much, but did not burn it well. Later in life, I simply became inactive, and ate worse foods.
6. Do you 'blame' anyone for your weight? Yes. Myself. Perhaps my parents could have limited my intake, but most of my gain has been more recent.
7. What other behaviors made you overweight? Being sedentary, and not knowing how to manage food. Since I left home and moved out on my own over 2 years ago, I have had ample opportunities to eat fast food and bad food, and I do. Also, my job is sedentary, where it was not before, as is my home life. I plan to work on that last part.
8. Were you active or exercising while you gained weight? No. The last time in my life that I was truly active, outside of my job, was my year at College. I played sport nearly every day. Basketball twice a week, soccer once a week, ultimate frisbee once a week, and volleyball at every opportunity. My year there got me to my ideal weight. During my gain? Rarely any activity.
9. Why did you choose that activity level? I love playing sports when I have people to play with. I do not enjoy working out or exercising on my own. I can not run, because it hurts my knees. I do not have a bike. I just do not enjoy it.
10. What made you finally want to change? I have always wanted to be at my ideal weight. Hitting 200 pounds in college, I felt better than I ever had in my life, and I was really enjoying my lifestyle. I want to be there again, or at least close. I want to easily fit into a booth at any and every restaurant. I do not want to be noticed in public for my gut. I want to be healthier.
I do not own a scale, so I do not even know my starting weight. My plan to exercise does not really start until next week, so I will try to figure it out by then. Also, pictures to come.
