Monday! Softball.

Softball, week 2!

Some good physical activity today. I played catcher, due to our normal guy being gone. I had a pretty weak game, but I feel great. My activity mostly came from running the bases. We dominated, 25-8. 2 wins, 0 losses. Next week is a forfeit win, so 3-0. I wish we were playing.

The stars are alive. They dance to the music of the deepest emotion.

I borrowed the title from Mara. The song has been on my heart, mind and lips lately.

I am at my parents house right now, and I have something amazing to report. My mom asked if I was losing weight. I kind of nodded, and asked if it was obvious. She said yes.

I'm having a really good day.

Can't sleep, clowns will eat me...

Well, the first part is true.

I can not sleep, and I have to be up for work in about an hour. Great combination, eh? So, I might as well write a bit.

There is nothing quite like a huge mirror to make yourself want change. Even so, there are few things in this world that are as delightful as a truly great cheeseburger. I guess I need to keep reminding myself that the cheeseburger may be delicious, but it is also temporary. And also that an occasional cheeseburger may be fine, but I do not need to eat three a week. Or more, as is occasionally the case.

If I am not too tired, I plan to take my first walk in the neighborhood after dinner tonight. The food has been better, but the activity level needs to be even more so. I had a good stretch tonight while I was watching a movie, and it reminded me of how I felt when I was more fit and more limber. I want to feel like that again, and I will.

I received my federal tax refund a few days ago, and I will be purchasing a scale rather soon. Weigh-ins will start, and will mostly likely be on a weekly schedule. I already know that the first weigh-in will bother me, as the number will be rather higher than it should, perhaps even higher than I might be thinking. It does not matter, though, because whatever it is, it is not just my weight, but my starting point, in a manner of speaking. I have already started, but it will all seem so much more official once I am getting on the scale and posting the numbers for all to see.

I accidentally turned on The Biggest Loser a couple of weeks ago, and I accidentally got hooked. While I might not like the way they do things, the show can be quite inspirational, and even caused an emotional moment for me already. So, that is just another thing in my life to remind me of my goals, and who I can and will be physically.

In other somewhat fun news, I bought an HD-DVD player for my XBox 360 and a bunch of HD movies on the cheap, as they have all been discontinued. My next HD-DVD will be the Planet Earth series, which was made by the BBC. It played on Discovery Channel HD here, and it was stunning. I barely got to see any of it, though, and I've already seen it online for as little as $15. Considering that it originally sold new for $99, that is a steal.

More to come soon. I seem to have a lot more to blog about these days.

I don't know.

Really, I don't. I just feel like writing right now.

I guess the first thing I should do is probably give a bit of an update on my weight loss efforts. Hooray.

Moving kind of put a damper on the plan to start going to the fitness center to use the treadmill. And now, of course, I do not have a key to the fitness center, as I no longer live in those apartments.

So, while packing I made a bit of an effort to stay on my feet and move around a lot. While standing still and dealing with paperwork, I took to just kind of doing a sway step from side to side. It was not much, but it is something, right?

Now that I am here, my one big thing so far has been playing with the dog. I know this doesn't sound like much, but that dog wears me out. He is fast, and chasing him around is a nice little cardio workout for me.

The other thing is, I am eating much healthier now, just by default. I had been relegated to a lot of quick foods and fast food, but here, Jenn does the cooking. She cooks delicious foods, and she makes a lot of organic stuff, and things are just generally better in that way.

I will be buying a scale soon, and instead of my treadmill plan, I will be taking some walks through the neighborhood. The weather has been amazing (70 degrees F the last couple of days), and I just really need to be doing something. So, I am getting pretty excited about all of this.

I guess that will do for now. I just wanted to get some words out before bed tonight. Peace.

Movin' on up...

To the Westside.

The apartment is empty. My bedroom is over-full.

My heart overflows. But I'm really tired.
